RESOBOX Gallery open a group art exhibition of "KAIJU" from January 10, 2014 to three weeks.
"Kaiju" is a famous Japanese word meaning [monster].
They are well-known in the Japanese sci-fi movies(Tokusatsu-Eiga) like Godzilla ,Gamera, and the Ultraman series.
These monsters are very huge, bigger than a building, and they destroy with their extraordinary powers.
"Kaiju" is a totally different being than monsters made in another countries.
One big feature is their existence is not only to do evil.
This means that they will become the God or the devil, depending on the behavior of humans.
Their presence is associated with deeply religious views from the aminism in Japan.
In this exhibition, artists come to NYC from whole of the world with their own "kaiju"art works,
that source of inspiration from the huge shadow of "Kaiju".
Please come and see their "Kaiju" and touch their extraordinary powers.
